About me.
Welcome to my web site. This is a place where I define and share my interest in vintage fashion and elegant gothic lolita. I have always loved romantic, princess-like gowns and jewelry from other eras, and when I learned of this Japanese trend in fashion, slowly finding its way to the United States, I began to follow it closely. My main sources of information about elegant gothic lolita are Avant Gauche and the EGL Livejournal community, especially the Master List of related EGL livejournals.
In following the fashions and especially the writings of other gothic lolitas, I have learned that the fashion probably means something different to everyone. There have been many attempts to substyle lolita, because it is such a varying fashion. The substyles that I love most are classical lolita, country lolita, and white lolita.
For me, elegant gothic lolita represents a return to innocence. My ideal purchases are items that evoke memories of childhood: sweet teddy bears, pastels, lace, unicorns. Because of the association this site is also a haven for my vintage dolls and toys that I treasure for similar reasons.
